7 Ways to Make Gold in 8.1

7 Ways to Make Gold in 8.1

Hi! I’m Hazel, and today I’m highlighting seven
different ways to make gold in 8.1. The BEST way to make gold is always going
to vary based on a whole bunch of factors so I’ve aimed for variety here. Hopefully there’s something useful for…most
people. 1st up is World Quests, and let me expand
a little bit before you just leave to go give up and take a nap. The amount of gold from a Gold World Quest
did get buffed a little in 8.1, so those are solidly over 100 each now. Any gear you get from a world quest reward
or just dropping along the way can be scrapped or disenchanted for some profit. All of the rep you get goes towards the new
paragon rep caches, which have a couple thousand gold in them. AND if a gold reward emissary comes up, that’s
worth an extra 2k gold for each character that you can do it on. The benefit of this one is that it’s new content,
so you’re also collecting current reps, toys, pets, mounts and titles while you’re at it. And you’ll also be getting Azerite if that’s
something you give a flying baby turtle about. The drawback is that it’s not really that
much gold relevant to past expansions or other methods, and if you’re severely undergeared
world quests may be slow to do. This one will be nicer after we unlock flying,
which unfortunately is not quite yet. Next up is Island Expeditions, specifically
to collect transmog and pets to sell. At a MINIMUM do your weekly quota which can
be filled up with only four heroic islands for a Mysterious Treasure Map. That map spawns a nice mission on your board
which could get you valuable rare BOE mog to sell, a dump of 5k straight gold or other
Island Loot. Not all of that is sellable but even the things
which aren’t are still nice to have such as Titan Residuum or mounts. If you’re going big on Island Farming you’ll
want either a lot of max level alts or one that’s specially kitted out and xp paused
at 111. With the 120s, it’s just about maximising
your weekly Treasure maps. With a fully decked out 111, you can queue
Normal mode islands and blast through them at top speed while picking up tons of loot
to sell. Some benefits here: you’re also hauling in
Dubloons for that new vendor. You also get chances at Island specific mounts
and toys, and also plenty of Azerite. The drawback is that the loot that you can
sell might sell for high prices but has a pretty low sale rate, so you might be sitting
on your inventory for a while. Next up is pet farming, and I am not talking
about running cata raids for cheap pets. Vendor pets from the new Gnomeregan pet dungeon
such as the Alarm-o-dog CAN be caged and sold. If you have the pets and the time to run Gnomeregan,
you could be looking at very good gold from pet collectors who can’t or don’t want to
go in themselves. There’s also an engineering schematic on the
vendor so Engineers can look i nto crafting Mechantulas to sell- although you may make
more gold by just going straight for the other pets on the vendor. While we’re talking about pets, all four of
the BfA Alchemy pets do still sell very well on the Auction House. If you have any alchemists it’s worth keeping
those Transmute Meat to Pet sacs hatching. That’s a lovely sentence. Keep in mind that there’s no guarantee that
you’ll get one of the new pets from the sacs, but that’s the only way to make ’em. If you’re selling pets, make sure to compare
the price of level 25 pets vs level 1. It might be worth your time to run them through
a daily or two before you sell to boost your profit. Next is Missions, and to be honest, this is
barely worth the mention but the gold amounts did get buffed slightly in 8.1 so I’m still
tossing it into the video. With the 200% bonus it’s what, 200 and something-ish
gold. It’s not going to change your life but you
know, what else were you going to spend your War Resources on. Next, not new to the patch but going strong
in 8.1 is Pandaria Ore Farming. You’re after Ghost Iron, Kyparite and Trillium,
so all of it. These are used to craft mounts like the Sky
Golem and Panther mounts among other things, but in my opinion the best thing to do is
just farm the ore. Don’t even bother crafting mounts. The crafted stuff tends to sell very close
to cost and it’s tough to move very many of them, whereas the ore offloads a lot faster
for almost as much. You can do this the old fashioned way by flying
around and mining nodes, or there are some fancy alternatives. If you’re into actual farm farming you can
plant some ore on your Pandaria farm and relive simpler days while making some gold. If you’re a mount collector, camp out the
Zandalari Warbringer rares for bags of Mop mats as well as chances at their Direhorn
mounts. Next is an old classic, Auction House flipping. Based on your starting gold and your patience,
this could be BOE epics, battle pets, transmog, crafting mats, whatever. The sky’s the limit. This is a huge category with more depth and
profit potential than the other six put together. Having said that, it’s one of those things
where you either like it or you don’t. If you’re are interested in getting into playing
the Auction House I recommend watching a few TSM guides to get a feel for the TradeSkillMaster
addon. Last is my personal favourite, BfA herb farming. This is STILL worthwhile, and will only get
moreso going into the new raid tier. Some things like Anchor Weed have definitely
fallen off a cliff but they’re still worth picking. Other herbs, like Akunda’s Bite on my server
have climbed quite a bit recently. Herbing is relaxing, it’s scenic- and if you
do it on an alt, it’ll help level more characters. You’ll want those around for gold emissaries
and pet charm world quests, and the next time they decide to add a farm to the game. I hope that’s soon. I bet they’ll let you pick your gold turnips
from your phone. And that’s it from me, thank you for watching. Share your superior goldmaking methods in
the comments so everyone else on your server can outcompete you with them. Let me know what you think and have a wonderful,
wonderful day. Bye!

  1. Thankyou so much you are amazing I needed this really bad. For a while now I have only been making 3k every 20 mins from my 115 druid with herbalism and mining

  2. Great vid Hazel! I've personally been finding cheaper-than-normal Ghost Iron Ores on my server then doing the Smelting into Bars -> Transmuting into Trillium Bars -> Riddle of Steel into Living Steel shuffle. I can sell Ghost Iron Bars, Trillium Bars (in stacks of 3 or 6 because they are the stack sizes needed for Riddle of Steel and Transmute: Living Steel, respectively), and Living Steel, on top of crafting Geosynchronous World Spinners, Depleted-Kyparium Rockets, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonlings, and of course Sky Golems and Panther Mounts.

  3. I've done so many Expeditions and I've only gotten one cache of 13 Doubloons, either Blizzard really screwed up on the drops or I'm doing something wrong.

  4. Just what I was looking for! I can't watch the video atm, but just in case it's not covered in the video, what is the best proffesion for gold making?

  5. Here is one i found by the way. Scrap EVERYTHING Idk what the he'll is happening on my server but most scrapped items will give you a shit load of storm silver and platinum. And for some reason that stuff, which barely scratched 2k per stack a few months ago is suddenly selling for nearly 14k on my server. Just a thought if you want easy gold, have a shit ton of purple items in your bags that you don't use and don't feel like walking around gathering ore

  6. Don’t just share this advice with everyone ok?
    1. Ask your friends for gold.
    2. Ask your guild mates for gold.
    3. Ask complete strangers for gold.
    4. Ask Hazel for gold.
    5. Ask GMs for gold.
    6. Ask your parents for gold (especially if they play wow)
    7. Ask people who hate you for gold. What’s gonna happen, they will just hate you more? Psh

  7. You are quickly becoming my favorite WoW content creator! Keep it up! I have been debating getting into the pet battling because of you.

  8. I’m slowly building an alt army holding steady at 110, but when 120 heirlooms and flight hit, I’ll have up to 30 people, geared in the most advanced catch-up mechanisms to hit those 2000g emissaries within the “downswing” month’s of BFA. It’s all about the long game, because nothing earned now, gearwise or gold-from-faucet-wise is really worth going hard on. Flipping will always be a thing, but that’s never been interesting to me personally.

  9. I do the Pandaria farm but I also use garrisons on all my toons. I have trading post (at least level 2) lunarfall inn (for follower recruitment) and engineering hut and use extreme scavenger on all the followers. Use trading post to convert garrison resources into materials needed for goblin gliders, and make them at the engineering hut. Goblin gliders always sell. The prices go up and down all the time, so just wait for them to be at a cost you like, and throw some up. I currently have about 10k gliders on my bank alts and every now and then I throw a few hundred on the ah when the price goes up.

  10. Another one is Sinister Gear, especially Blacksmithing! I’ve made about 600k the past 3 weeks on those items. 🙂

  11. "Flying is not unlocked unfortunately". What the hell are you talking about?? Fyling ruins world pvp and exploration! I wish they would never unlock flying for the current expansion!

  12. Mechantula sold very well. I sold 3 for 25k within the first couple days the patch, then 3 for 15k, then a few for 10k, then now around 2.5k, as people kept coming into the market and cutting chunk by chunk. Note that the mats to craft it were like 300g each, so this is easy profit even buying the ore, but only if there isn't an active person on your server

  13. Most of these methods are tried and proven (until they're nerfed by blizzard) as for AH flipping i keep hearing it's great but i tend not to do it because every time i try i just end up going broke on bad flips. Seems like a requirement for AH flipping is knowing the market.

  14. From the old solo raids you can get many gold from the loot and sell them to your vendor, that's the way i usually get gold from and some other ways you mentioned

  15. "Flying baby turtle" LOL. It is high quality dialog like this which is why I prefer Hazel's videos over other channels. The content is great, however, her personality is what really makes the videos, though.

  16. You missed the most obvious way. Get a job and buy tokens with your wages. Even a McDonalds employee can “earn” 200k with a couple of hours work.

  17. Strait aoe grinding mobs in force spawns out in say voldun will net you more gold than any of these. I casually tried it for a two hours with some random people and made probably just over 5k in raw gold and grey items. U can vendor greens if your enchanting market is low or disenchant/scrap if it's high/active.

  18. did you tried these ways personaly?! cuz her farming and sale is dead atm and im playing on 3x full servers im not comparing new servers and island farm is dead also 99% of pets and transmogs of island expedition are lower than 1k in ah

  19. Another thing, though bit tedious and annoying to some, keep up with paragon reps. Those boxes gives on average 4k gold + other goodies.

  20. do you notice a big difference in selling prices when comparing a Full, Medium, Low Pop Realm? Trying to decide which one of my realms I wanted to do this on.

  21. Atm working on leveling 3 alts both to start doing profession grinding and for all of them to run shadowmourne;

    Plus I get pets, raw gold, a couple mogs and a chance to FINALLY get my mount!;

  22. Ah > all
To play the ah it’s best to keep up to date by joining discord groups and Reddit post
Only the people that correctly predict the future make the real $

  23. I farm low lvl raids on my warrior. I usally get about 1.5k or more if i decide to loot everything. Sometimes i get lazy and just loot bosses.

  24. I've been leveling my alts through Herbalism. When rested you get a level for every 200 notes (that's about 75-90 minutes per level). I also make about 45k gold for level 110-120. Since I'm leveling 9 characters at the same time using this method i don't have to worry about waiting for rested and I make a nice 400k gold from it.
Do note that mobs on the opposite faction's island are level 120 by default, as a Hordie I recommend the Akunda's Bite area shown at 4:20.
For Alliance maybe the river in the north of Tiragarde or the cost between Boralis and northern Drustvar (on the south and west side of the lake).
