Alternative Medicine & Fasts : How to Do a Spiritual Fast


Hi, my name is Dr. Kim Makoi. I’m a holistic
chiropractor, and Medi/ Physician, from San Francisco, California, and this is how to
do a spiritual fast. A spiritual fast is basically a time set aside, where you focus on spiritual
matters,and refrain from things that have to do with the outside world, as much as possible,
so to do a spiritual fast, it’s a good idea to plan it out for a set number of days, mentally
prepare, and understand what’s coming up. If you belong to a particular church, or follow
a special spiritual practice, it may be helpful to speak with your spiritual advisers, and
get their advice, on how they would recommend pursuing the spiritual fast. It’s a good idea
to turn off your TV, your radio, refrain from any media consumption, during your spiritual
fast. Don’t read the papers. It’s a good idea to avoid any kinds of distracting hobbies,
or physical exercise types of activities, that may detract. If you like, it’s fine to
go for runs or walks, and quiet nature settings, and reading is fine, as long as it’s confined
to spiritual books. The idea is to get as much as possible, away from the outside world,
and focus inwardly, and basically, that’s how to do a spiritual fast.
