Antibiotics and Your Heart

people with certain heart conditions may
have to take special precautions like pre treatment with antibiotics before a
visit to the dental office the reason is bacteria from your mouth can work its
way into your bloodstream and eventually your heart to help prevent potential
infection pretreatment may be recommended according to a recent report
by the American Heart Association most people with heart conditions no longer
need to take antibiotics prior to dental treatment however for some heart
patients pretreatment is still recommended this includes patients with
an artificial heart valve previous infective endocarditis some types of
congenital heart disease and cardiac transplant patients who develop cardiac
valve allopathy if you have a heart condition ask your dentist or physician
if antibiotic pretreatment is recommended for the ADA dental minute
