AQTN – Alternative medicine is for everyone

Better health is now more easily
available through preventative an alternative medicine; no prescription
required! Let’s start with an analogy: the earth
receives a wide spectrum of light from the Sun, from infrared to ultraviolet and everything
in between and many magnitudes of wavelengths
beyond. A small segment of that spectrum is called visible light. This is the portion of the
spectrum that our eyes have evolved to being able to
differentiate. The analogy is the following: there’s a spectrum medical
conditions, in which both complementary alternative
medicine and the medical community have their own range. The spectrum of medical conditions covers
everything, from diabetes to coronary artery disease
to headaches, broken bones anemia, obesity, addiction, psychiatric
illnesses, and all other medical ailments. Once we
are aware of the spectrum of medical conditions, we
immediately recognize that the medical community is already segmented into small ranges,
just like visible light! We may take a surgeon, for example, who
specializes in manual operative procedures, but is ill-suited to deal with the psychiatric aspect of the patient. For this, one sees a psychiatrist who may
prescribe special medication but is by no means a surgeon – each deal
with it different range within the spectrum that medical conditions. An ophthalmologist, a podiatrist an
audiologist a dentist, a gynecologist, the examples abound. But where does complementary alternative
medicine fit into all of this – things like massage
therapy, yoga naturopathy, natural therapy, and so on
and so forth now this is where things get, really
interesting. The literary reviews that have been conducted over the last decade all indicate the same clinically proven
benefits from alternative medicine, and they are these: relief from stress relief from anxiety and relief from pain.
This does not refer to anxiety as being a medical psychiatric condition where one
is required to take medication complementary alternative medicine is not a substitute for any medication, and is most obviously not a substitute for cardiac surgeons, ophthalmologists, and, well, you see the pattern. The remarkable characteristic of
complementary alternative medicine within the spectrum of medical conditions is that it’s benefits encompass much of that spectrum; far more than any single type doctor. Alternative medicine is often, but not always, preventative medicine. The practitioner will try to help clients resolve specific issues in the long run. They will help you, they
will try to help you, change your lifestyle, and it is in that
sense that compliment alternative medicine holds the key for a healthier future, by helping each individual in their own
battle, whether for smoking, unhealthy eating habits, lack of exercise,
not sleeping properly, and so on and so forth. Within the
medical profession as we currently know it, medical specialists will do a quick
intervention and then exit the life of the patient,
who often does not go on to change their lifestyle habits; high blood pressure, for example, can be
treated with medication, almost everything can be treated with
medication, which is led the medical profession to
agree that we are over prescribing them in
North America. To summarize, complementary alternative
medicine with a naturopathy, yoga or other modalities, in combination, have
the power to safely guide changes in the lifestyle the individual, so they can live a longer; healthier; happier; and more for fullfillnig life. (www.AQTN.ca)
