Customer Spotlight: Li’l Teeth Dentistry


My son was very interested in dinosaurs, and
so we kind of came up with the dinosaur. My business is Li’l Teeth Dentistry. We’ve been
in business for five years now. It’s been a dream come true. The reason I decided to build a new building
was because we ran out of space, and so I wanted to offer more services, from just kids
to now adults with special needs, and ortho. A new build is great because I could make
it the way I want to. I could make the rooms the way I want to, the space, the flow of
families coming through the practice. My main goal is to, when I was a kid I was afraid
of the dentist, not to have that for kids now, so when they get older they continue
to go to the dentist. The impact that the building has had on my practice is huge. We’re
able to see more families, give more services. What led me to Live Oak was that I’ve seen
their ads in magazines, and then my dental rep also recommended me to Live Oak. There
was three banks total that I was working with at the time. The other two banks I went to
were national banks that really didn’t specialize in dental loans. When it came to talking to
my loan officer, which is Mike, he could understand what I was talking about – patient flow, employees,
and production, collections – and so he understood the process of how dental businesses work.
I still talk to Mike two years later. The other two banks still needed more information,
forecasts, budgets, and Live Oak already had me approved. So they made the process a lot
easier and that process is very difficult to begin with. A lot of banks didn’t have the technology,
where I can actually put my documents together and keep track of them and know exactly what
percentage of my loan application was done. I think that made a huge difference for me
and one reason I decided to go with Live Oak Bank. Actually, I have two friends that I
recommended to Live Oak and they’re both going with Live Oak now. I don’t know any dentist that has opened their
own building, and so I’m kind of the first. And so, when you’re in that type of situation,
you kind of don’t know what’s going to happen, it’s a little scary, but I was up for the
challenge, and Mike and Live Oak has really helped me through that challenge. I’m so excited. I live my dream every day.
I come to work, and I get to treat kids and families, and give a service back to a community.
I definitely would do business with Live Oak again because it’s been a wonderful experience.
