  1. I have an appointment coming up with an eye doctor. I am hoping my issue is just dry eye. I often feel like I have a lash or even a piece of saw dust, or glass in my eye. I wake with the whites of my eyes pinkish. After some eye drops the pinkish color goes away. But for a week now my left eye has been blurry vision, and some double vision. It's more like the words have a shadow or highlight of the letters below them. I have tried a couple different types of drops. After a few days it finally seemed to be clearing up. But today it was worse again. I have had watery eyes in the past. Seems like every winter for the last few years. My eyes water like made. But this time it seems to be just the left. A week ago it was like I was crying out of my left eye. So I purchased some drops. A few weeks prior I woke with what felt like thick slime over my eyeball. But whatever it was, was clear. After flushing my eyes with some clear eye drops. They were fine the rest of the day…until recently. I have scratched my eye in the recent past. But thought that had healed. I am also noticing that it seems my eye cornea area is raised more on left than on right. I close my eyes and gently touch the eyelid with two fingers each side. I roll my eyeballs around and my left eye is so much easier to feel move than my right. Left feels raised. I am worried my vision is screwed. Have had perfect eyesight for 38yrs. Now here we are days before my 39th birthday and my left eye is acting up.

  2. Could natural cold pressed Castor Oil help for dry eyes? I read conflicting info on the web, some pro, others con. Like to get your opinion doc?

  3. Doctor Eye Health, I'm 51 and using 1.50x reading glasses. I take Lyrica and suspect it is making my vision worse from side effects but my doctor is not crazy about getting off it. Any advice? Do I just go to an optometrist and tell him this and see what he says? Thanks for any help you can suggest! 🙂

  4. Would you suggest using one of those electric eye masks that have heating settings ? I’m kind of doubtful about putting an electric device close to the eyes but maybe I’m overly concerned 😂 I don’t have a microwave at home so it would be handy

  5. Great video. Nice delivery. Had me closing eyes and drinking when watching video.
Also looking into the Bruder Moist Heat mask.

  6. EPA and DHA are made mostly by marine algae and are bioaccumulated by the fish that eat the algae. Given the extreme overfishing that is rapidly denuding the oceans, it is much more environmentally responsible to simply take the algae oil directly and skip the middle fish. Plus their are health advantages since the algae is grown in a controlled environment free from the high levels of mercury, other heavy metals, and persistent organic toxins like dioxins. And of course algae oil is much nicer to the fish who don’t have to suffer and die for our dry eyes.

Oh, and the best source of ALA is flax seeds with chia seeds being second. Always eat flax seeds in ground form, otherwise they simply pass through without being digested. I just put them on my oatmeal or in my breakfast smoothie. Chia seeds whisked into soy or almond milk until the mix begins to thicken (about 3 minutes) and then allowed to sit overnight in the refrigerator makes a very nice breakfast pudding. Topped with fruit and maybe a little maple syrup makes a nice breakfast or healthy dessert.

Animal foods including dairy , maybe especially dairy, tend to be highly inflammatory, so minimizing or eliminating these foods could be very helpful. Refined plant foods (refined grains, refined sugar, liquid vegetables oils of all kinds including olive oil) are also inflammatory, it somewhat less so. Thus a focus on whole plant foods will reduce systemic inflammation. This will aid not just the eyes but also vascular inflammation which is the root cause of many of our most deadly diseases like heat disease.

  7. I am totally fed up with my eyes watering 24/7!!!!!!!! 😭 I’ve tried hundreds of prescriptions & over the counter eye drops! Used baby shampoo (Johnson’s) & warm rags but still no improvement. Even had the plugs put in & I can’t tell a difference! 😟 It gets so frustrating & by the afternoon, I have no foundation on under my eyes, not too mention all the wrinkles I’m getting from constantly wiping them!!!!!!

  8. I drink a ton of water I don’t drink caffeine and I don’t take any meds but I’ll try some of the other stuff

  9. I spray water into my eyes because I read that evaporative dry eye leaves you with hypertonic (extra salty) tears. It's very refreshing and works better than any eye drops I've tried. I use a fine mist sprayer, only use distilled water or water that's been boiled & cooled. I change the water in the bottle daily or more often. I also wash my face and eyelids 2x a day, and then massage moist lids with a drop of castor oil to express/prevent blockage in meibomian glands/ducts. I also sleep with an eye mask to keep lids closed and reduce evaporative drying. The mask also has heat feature, which I use for 30 minutes only. Lastly, I use fish oil supplements + Vit A + Vit E. My eyes are almost normal now!

  10. Hi! I have really dry eyes that I cant find a suitable type of contact lens without feeling uncomfortable. Is it advisable if i undergo lasik surgery?

  11. hi , i am 61 years old , my eye doctor recommended cataract for my right eye. but during tests he tried some lenses which i could see very good with it . asking why i can't just go with those lenses and do no surgery?

  12. So, I know how horrible this is, but I've been addicted to energy drinks for years now! It's actually so bad that for the past about 3 or probably 4 years, I drink about 4 or 5, 16oz cans a day! I wake up and start drinking them right away, until bed time! Bc of this, I do suffer with dry eyes, abs also dry mouth! I want to get away from this, and while it's easy for someone that doesn't to say, "duh, that's horrible, so just stop", it's really not that easy!! I was a big coffee drinker for years, so I used to think, what's the difference?! Some energy drinks have more caffeine than others, and although I know it's still bad, the ones I drink, original NOS, have a total of 160mg in the entire can. One cup (8oz) of coffee has about 95mg of caffeine, which is more than the energy drinks I consume. While, of course, caffeine is addicting, I also LOOOVE the taste of these drinks, like too much! I tried to find even juices to compare, but nothing does!! I swear they put something in these drinks other than caffeine to get ppl addicted lol…. but seriously!! Also, I've never been the type to have much energy, so that's what has been the main reason that I started drinking these! I'm not afraid to admit my lack of willl power to exercise or get my rear moving either! I honestly would love to get away from these drinks, and be a more healthy person! And lately, I've been trying to consume more water bc I realize the affects from years of these darn devilish drinks!! Im not afraid of criticism, bc I clearly know the consequence! I just would love any advice anyone could give please?!!!!

  13. Do you recommend "computer glasses" for those of us whose job revolved around using the computer? Some days it feels like I really can't get away from screens

  14. Why are all the doctors on YouTube so energetic, competent and smart . Also visually pleasing. The reality, at least in germany, ismost Eye docs are desinterested in their patients, don't give you much time to explain your issues. Average I got 2 mins…

  15. good video great delivery however for me I wont be doing ANY of these things, a lot of people wont either (but a lot will) I don't even blink 4 times a minute I reckon I blink 1 time in 2 to 3 minutes any more than that is severely impacting my life and causing me frustration to be forced into blinking when I do not actually have to. You are right about the digital age and those people that spend a minimum of 16 hours minimum on a computer they will always be focusing so blink rate will never exceed what are asking them because it is easier just to sit there as a life comfort, Thus they wont want their contact lenses to fog up or dry out as it is called for a minimum of at least 4 hours and expect them to be ultra comfortable as if there are actually in your eye at all to me that is a lower than sub par request out of any contact lens. Standards should be Dailies in 8 hours before fog up and exceed expectation should be 12 hours before fog up regardless of any human beings eye condition.

  16. Wear eyeglasses with a high base curve (6 or higher). This used to lead to poor visual performance but now with the "digital free-form" lenses, this is no longer an issue.

  17. I’m 23 and I’ve been experiencing dry eyes from daily use of contacts. It’s so bad that I get eye fatigue & end up taking them out around 5 pm if I can. Ive mentioned my concerns to a doctor before (or maybe it was the contact specialist) and they just told me to limit my wear of contacts but wearing glasses everyday annoys me too much. I really want to get lasik though I know from research i have to handle my dry eyes

  22. I have really dry eyes especially the right eye and I was told to use tears 8 times a day. My main symptom is hard to explain basically I have this thing that moves in circles and it flickers. I see it more when I'm in darker settings and it becomes less obvious during bright sun light. It's mostly on far right side of the right eye. Today when I visited the doctor his nurse put some sort of drop in to check the eye pressure and after that drop this symptom totally disappeared for 3 hours. I am guessing she using a numbing drop

I have been trying to see if it's a symptom of dry eyes my doctor says it is and he said I have a swollen cornea

  28. Please, try this first if you eye(s) feel dry:
Take an ear cotton bud (which you clean your ears with normally). Make it wet in the sink. Press out the excessive water.
Now rub the wet part over your lower eyelid.

It works for me most of the time while having an dry eye. I saw this in another video. They explained we have multiple tear dots which can get clogged, and this is the way to open them. I am not sure this is true, but my experience is positive. Try this and only give me a thumbs up if this worked for you too, so more can be helped with this.

  30. Doc, what is your opinion of avenova? I have dry eye caused by blepharitis and associated bacteria, toxins, etc. I used the ocusoft lid scrubs but they irritate my eyes. I found Avenoa while searching blepharitis on the internet. Have you ever had cause to use eyelid scrubs to rid the eyelids of debris, bacteria overgrowth, etc? I was also put on anti biotic ointments for several weeks but didn't seem to do much good. Thanks for any info you can provide.

The compress actually drys mine out worse. I use a wash rag wet and warm it in the microwave for 5 seconds put it in my eyes for 60. I do this for 5-10 minutes. 35. I was searching videos for dry eye this morning. I have it pretty bad. Today my eyes were dry and coincidentally I just happened to drink a large glass of water and within 5 minutes my eyes were MUCH less dry. I thought, hmm, that's interesting. Then I started watching your video. The first thing you suggest is DRINK MORE WATER! Pretty funny. I'm going to keep checking this water (or lack of it) theory. I think you're (we're) on to something. Thanks for sharing!

  49. I recommend people to try Ayurvedic Products. I had an irritating cataract disease in my eyes for 8 months and assumed it was allergy. I had tried opticians drops, but none did the trick. I then tried Bilberry Capsules, Amla Saar and Amalaki Rasayan Capsules manufactured by Planet Ayurveda. They did prove a big improvement in a few months. After a three months the difference was really unbelievable. I actually believe that it is gone permanently. I definitely recommend people to try it.

  50. Hello Doctor, my doctor recommended Tear nature and polidemisin to cure dry eye. In fact, I do have eye floaters as well.
