Home Remedies for Swollen Feet

Home remedies for swollen feet Do you know anyone who suffers from swollen
feet? Swollen feet is not a problem itself, but
points to a deeper issue. This usually happens when there’s a build-up
of fluid in the tissue, making them swell. This is known as edema. As the swelling gets worse, it gets more uncomfortable
and it may become hard to walk or stand. It can also get more painful, and the feet
may be red. Looking for a cure? Here are some things you can try at home to
bring the swelling down. • Contrast Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is therapy using water to lessen pain and discomfort. For this type of hydrotherapy, you will use
both warm and cold water. The warm water will help blood flow, and the
cold water will bring down the swelling in your feet. How do you do this? • Fill two foot tubs with water- one with
cold water and the other with warm. • Soak your feet first in the warm water
for 3- 4 minutes. • Put your feet straight into the cold water
for about 1 minute. • Continue switching between the two for
15- 20 minutes. • Do a few times a day until the swelling
is down. • Massage
One of the best cures for swollen feet is a foot massage. This helps aching muscles and gets the blood
flowing. It also helps extra fluid drain to bring down
swelling. • Rub some warm mustard oil or olive oil
on the swollen area. • Gently massage the area for five minutes
in an upward direction. Make sure not to massage the area too hard. • Do this a few times a day. It is best to massage your feet during, or
after taking a bath. • Epsom Salt
Epsom salt can bring down swelling very fast, while soothing pain too. This is because it has magnesium sulfate which
can be soaked up by the skin to help the blood flow and bring down the swelling. It is also helps sore, tired muscles, and
can kill foot odor. Home remedies for swollen feet Do you know anyone who suffers from swollen

Since ginger is a natural diuretic, it brings down the amount of water in the body, and
helps treat swollen feet. This is because it lessens the sodium in the body which is
a big cause of swelling. • Massage swollen feet with ginger oil a
few times a day. • You can also chew raw ginger slices or
drink 2- 3 cups of ginger tea. • Dandelion
Dandelion is a great cure for swollen feet. It helps the body absorb extra fluids because
of its diuretic quality. It also helps keep track of the sodium level in the body.
• Mix one teaspoon of fresh or dried dandelion leaves with one cup of hot water. Cover it
and let it soak for five minutes before straining it. Drink this tea two or three times a day.
• You can also take dandelion tincture or supplements, but make sure to ask your doctor
before you do. • Exercise
Exercising often is important to stop your feet from swelling. Exercise helps blood flow
and stops blood from building up in your lower limbs.
Some good ideas are • Swimming- Swimming is one of the best
exercises you can do to bring down swelling and soothe the pain.
• Walking or jogging for thirty minutes, at least five days a week.
• Leg strengthening and stretching exercises. • Doing yoga every day to help blood flow. • Magnesium
If your body is missing magnesium, that may cause swelling in the feet due to edema. Make
sure to eat foods that are full of magnesium to help fight this problem.
• Some foods that have magnesium are dark leafy greens, nuts, seeds, fish, soybeans,
avocado, bananas, and dark chocolate. • You can take magnesium supplements, but
not before asking your doctor. Here are some other tips to cure swollen feet
• Elevate your legs so that they are higher than the level of your heart.
• Limit the amount of salt and caffeine you have, because they cause feet to swell.
• Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, instead of canned goods, which have added salt for
storage. • Drink lots of water to keep your body
hydrated and clean out bad bacteria. • Avoid sitting for long hours. Instead,
take breaks and walk around a bit. • When taking long trips in a car, bus,
train, or plane, think about wearing compression stockings to stop feet from swelling.

  16. This is by far the WORST advice I've come across on all of YouTube!!
You need compression socks and if your not mobile, get some leg pumps on Amazon. Change your diet to a living foods (raw) diet. Most ppl don't know how to eat raw so study it. YouTube has plenty of gurus who've been eating raw for years. Raw advantage, life regenerator, fully raw kristina, rawvana… Get your feet above your heart. Massage, yes, but very lightly as too much pressure can cause the lymph to go the opposite direction you intend. Contrast therapy (hot/cold hydrotherapy) helps the veins to mimic natural healing process of constricting and expanding but it's not an internal, long term solution. It's the food. Psalm 104:14

  17. GIVE UP SUGAR and get GOING! WALK, WALK, WALK. Eat vegetables instead of chips and dip and get exercise!!!! Very simple. Oh and GIVE UP SUGAR in processed foods.

20 10 E HARD FIND SHOES ON MY LEFT LEG I HAVE BIG OPEN LEG WOUND
AND I HAVE BIG BIG lipedema BALL ON MY RIGHT LEG IT HURTS WALK I

  19. This left out a leading cause of edema, medications, in my case specifically BP medication I wasnt aware that was a side affect and ended up in an ER over the swelling.

  20. I have none of the causes you stated. Treating the symptoms is not a cure. I do salt baths often….still get swelling. I eat pretty good so what nutrients am I missing? I'll try some dandelion, I hear it's good for liver. Magnesium…. You might be right about that! Thanks. The plane is the worst….

  21. Thank you I had now idea what was causing my swollen feet, I have mentioned it to my doctor but he just gives me a blank look and doesn't comment.

  22. So….. I got a ankle injury when I was playing soccer/football, is that why I got a swollen foot ? Also I heard my ankle pop, and I was freaking out cuz I thought I broke something.

  23. So my left ankle and foot was swollen for a while…it would go down a little when I elevated it. One day I decided to stop eating sugar and bread products (love bagels) and start drinking lemon and ginger tea first thing in the morning…within 24 hours the swelling disappeared. So far so good…

  24. This is happening to me but it happens to my left foot only. I was 264lbs (100lbs overweight) and prediabetic. My Dr said to lose the 100lbs, cut out salt/sugar/fat/meat/spinach/mushrooms/green beans and drink 100 ounces of water per day. I cut out all the things she said, I drink about 70 ounces of water daily, and I lost 60lbs and not one thing had changed. Actually the swelling has spread to my toes and up my leg that is now so numb. Went to the Dr and she said my soft tissue is swollen but no gout and no arthritis in that area. I exercise daily and 5 of those days I workout I do it for 2 hours and a lot of cardio. I gave up coffee, soda, and tea as well. I soak my feet daily, use ice, elevate when I can, eliminated grease/oil and i massage my foot with shea butter. I have also developed black bruises that came out of nowhere onthe same leg. I can still walk but I have a limp. I feel like I am dying slowly. I am 38 and a female. It takes everything I have in me to go to work, cook, clean, take care of a child and an idiot husband who is so helpless I want to scream. I don't know what to do and have given up. Being in constant pain is making me suicidal

  25. When this happens to me I just drink large amounts of water with lemon juice. It is such a relief when the fluids start to get dispelled. Having your feet higher than your head is also important.

  26. 27. I got my 1st pain pump 24 yrs ago and my legs, ankles and hands have been swollen like basket balls ever since.legs feel like lead and makes it very hard to walk, sometimes you just can't catch a break.

  28. Drinking two cups of water with the juice of a lemon every day made all the swelling in my feet go away immediately – from one day to the next.

  29. Friends take it from me it's very effective and wow a what a relaxing moment in a day

  30. I do several of those things but none of them seem to be helping me. The doctor will be telling me in July if I have diabetes, I am really hoping that I don't have, but at least I will know what is wrong.

  31. I read some medical trial somewhere that taking 2,000 mg of acetaminophen four times a day for 6 days in a row tricks your liver and the Edema in the legs and feet goes down quickly, by day 4 or 5 dramatic Edema reduction was found. This was a study in I believe it was Sweden.

  32. Super video!!! I loved it! Very detailed, to the point that even before the end I did, actually I'm doing, the warm and cold water! And I will use the other solutions too because my feet are feeling like they are ready to explose! Thank you very much for your help!
