Today, I’m going to give you my top, six home remedies to heal gout. Gout is something that’s plaguing more and
more people every day, and it’s caused from uric acid buildup in the body. I want to go
over my top six home remedies, but right before that go over the diet that is crucial to get
rid of gout, and the worst food offenders. So if you have gout, the first thing you have
to do is eliminate the excess sugar and grains in your diet, and then processed meat. So
again, excess sugar, grains, and processed meat products are some of the biggest foods
you need to get out of your diet. Sugar feeds yeast in the body, the conventional
grains turn into sugar, and then those meats, the problem there is, they’re full of hormones
and antibiotics and they’re so acidic to your system. Then in terms of beverages, staying
away from alcohol. So again, those are the best things you can do right now to eliminate
gout symptoms. Stay away from those foods. In terms of a gout diet, a diet very high
in vegetables and fruits, and then organic meats. So again, vegetables, fruits, organic
meat. Some of the best foods include things like bone broth and chicken vegetable soup.
That’s a good gout diet. Now here are my top six home remedies to get
rid of gout for good. Here’s what I can tell you, if you follow these tips, you can get
rid of gout in 24 hours or less. That fast, you can get rid of gout pain for good. Step number one: Celery seed extract and celery
juice. Celery seed extract actually has been shown to decrease uric acid buildup in the
body. So again, you can buy the supplement, celery seed extract, or get a vegetable juicer
out, juice celery juice. Or just eat celery throughout the day. Great for getting rid
of gout. Number two home remedy for gout is black cherry
juice or cherry juice extract. Cherry juice, very similar benefits, it reduces inflammation,
it reduces uric acid buildup in the body. And these two things, if you just did celery
and black cherry juice, you will see very fast results in getting rid of gout. The third thing you can do is nettles. You
can actually buy nettles tea, and nettles is a powerful anti-inflammatory phyto-nutrient.
So again, starting to do stinging nettles, you can buy that as a supplement or drink

  1. I had a gout flare up last night and I'm on a KETO diet w/ IF. I eat organic, grass fed meat and eggs, veggies, and fats. Last night I ate Pasture raised eggs with onions and cheddar cheese (now that I think of it, it was conventional cheese hmm} with big bowl of asparagus, spinach and greens. NO alcohol, NO sugars, NO grains. NO processed or canned food, NO organ meat recently. . One thing I did eat recently different from my regular diet was cocoa powder. Drives me batty when recommended to stay away from certain foods but not part of your diet.

  4. J Watkings: As you comment , i bet you have tried lots of remedies. My advice: as soon as you feel a gout attack is coming , eat lots of watermelon , strawberries , celery . It is best if you put them in a blender (the melon WITH the white part of rind , seeds and maybe some outer skin also . Of course the red pulp included). Also , include half of a big red apple or a whole small one. Drink lots of it for 1-2 days. For food, substitute meat with a boiled egg ( 1-2 a day) and boiled potatos with carrots . You can include a microwaved chicken leg or thigh. No salt , no condiments ! Do it ! It works ! Couple days your gout’s gonne !

He was bedridden as a child.he wrote book " cure incurable" He suggest doing special lemon juice treatment which after gout dissappear.Normal treatment is 30 lemons per week and advanced 200 per week . I first experienced gout pain in both my big toes but mainly the right about 4 years ago and had a couple of flair ups in a year but didn't know what it was at the time thought I'd banged it or poor fitting shoes. It got a lot worse to the point of 1 attack every month lasting around a week. I also had urinary problems (stingy wee) By the time I got to see my doctor the attacks had subsided so blood tests came up border line for uric acid. Until a specialist confirmed it was gout and could take medication for the rest of my life. I was unprepared to do this and looked a little deeper into alternative ways to eliminate not mask the problem. I have been free of gout now for 3 months and my solution was the following. Apple cider vinegar 2tbs. 1/8tsp of borax. Sour cherry and apple juice 300ml in a litre of distilled water 5 days a week drunk throughout the working day. Supplements also chanca piedra and magnesium citrate. Vitamins d, b12, c, turmeric, glucosamine. Avoid purin foods, fatty foods cut back on alcohol especially wine. Odd beer at the weekend. I'm not saying this would work for others but seems to be doing the trick for me but give it time but the results have been fairly rapid. Chanca piedra flushes the liver and kidneys and breaks up the crystals, think this this has been the key player tbh.

  10. Suffered from gout since I was 18 and am now 33 y/o. I take allopurinol daily to control my UA, but still experience occasional gout attacks. The quickest and IMO the healthiest form of relief without introducing more toxic drugs (colchicine/NSAID's) to my body has been bloodletting. Traditionally an Eastern medicine practice, bloodletting of the affected joint immediately reduces pain and inflammation, and within 24 – 48 hours I regain normal use of the joint. I'm no longer debilitated for days or weeks on end. Hope this info helps sufferers out there like me find relief.

  14. I've had gout for about 6 years now. My diet sucks… that being said. Alkaline Water and double up the dose of ALEVE, NOT Advil or Tylenol… I take 2 over the counter strength pills every 12 hours. It does not "Cure" the attack but helps you manage. My symptoms go away within a week. THERE IS NO 24HR CURE!
    ALEVE HELPS!!! just don't use 4 pills for a week straight, just the 1st few (worst) days then lower dosage back to normal.

  15. from me a gout sufferer… high on my suspect list. late night meals, fatigue, meat any meat, diary, too much citrus type fruits and caffeine,. I don't drink alcohol so don't know about alcohol. And don't forget the age old adage of fasting every now n then to detox.

  16. i have been a gout sufferer for years and you forgot to mention stress and high blood pressure is on the top of the list. also you need to massage the joint vigorously and ice it, there is no immediate cure for gout just patience and eat rite

  17. The only thing I agree with is the processed meats. I have huge steaks and fresh meats. I do drink 2 glasses of red wine a day I don't have sugar or cokes or sodas
    The best solution is to have a minimum of 3 litres of water per day. Use 3 bottles of water to visualise EVERY SINGLE DAY.

    You must then have 8 to 10 litres of water for a few days. It's a bit of a hassle for toilet breaks but it's proving very effective. I have resisted the daily drug allopurinol routine entirely. I have been gout free for the last couple years

  19. I always liked your videos but take exception with this one. I have decades direct experience on the topic of gout. First of all cherry juice does nothing I've tried it dozens of times. Your bone broth idea is bad because it is loaded with purines.

    The best advice I could give anyone who has suffered from gout more than two or three times in their life is go see a rheumatologist and get on the appropriate amount of allopurinol. My decade-long direct experience confirm that all of these home remedies are 100% ineffective for curing a gout flare up. They are effective however at maintenance of a balanced system that can prevent a flare-up. If you have moderately high uric acid levels and want to attempt to maintain then that do the following. Water water water water, lemon water. The lemon helps keep you alkalized which will help prevent gout. Eat your vegetables except for the few that are high in purines like spinach mushrooms and asparagus. Whole organic Meats in moderation. Avoid sausage like the plague. And establish good gut health. The process of establishing good gut health can actually trigger a gout flare up so be ready when some colchicine. if you do have a flare-up that is not going away your best bet is a short course of Prednisone taking properly. For gout prednisone needs to be taken twice per day 20 mg each time vs a single large dose.

  21. One word people, Allopurinol. Go see a rheumatologist and get on Allopurinol. It is a safe medicine and will 100% prevent future gout attacks.

    If you have a flare 1 Word, prednisone 20 mg twice per day for 10 days.

  22. Hi Dr. Axe, My baby brother has Gout, he hasn't had a problem with it in about 1.5 yrs, although, he is just starting to have pain in his toe again. There is a couple of things I need to ask. You said to stay away from processed meat, I was wondering if grass-fed meat would be OK and I know he can't have sugar but what about honey and maple syrup, one more thing what about Bio-Flex for arthritis?   30. As a gout sufferer of many years I always relied on Indometacin to clear it up usually within 24-48 hrs. Nowadays ( In the UK ) Indometacin isn't given for gout treatment but Naproxen is now being prescribed and I find it as good as Indometacin. Regarding what starts the flare ups, I don't know. I don't drink alcohol, or eat cheese or chocolate, red meat or tinned meats are not on my shopping list and I only eat food considered purene free so I am at a loss as to why I hobble around from time to time with a big toe the size and colour of a Spanish tomato. My Father suffered from gout as well so I tend to think that is in my genes.

  31. I use to have Gout so bad that 3 or 4 times a year I would be totally incapacitated for days at a time. It was SO painful I could hardly tolerate it, I couldn't even think of putting on a sock. How did I totally eliminate it? I went Vegan. It's now a memory, not a single attack in 3 years.

  33. this may work for mild sufferers but for me i get severe attacks atleast once a month in my right foot even on a gout diet or whatever you want to call it. over time it damages the muscles etc also in the foot bcoz of walking unevenly etc gouts ruined my life even when the gouts at ease i still have great pain/pressure in my foot like my foot is permanatly fractured so yeah ill admit gout will make a grown man cry not just from the pain but it will torment my mind it really sucks.

  35. I did the cherry and celery and I'm 24 hours in and absolutely no change. I ran out of my medication and the Dr was out till Monday. That medication usually has it gone in a day. Gout is insanely painful. I used to make fun of it when I was younger. Karma

  36. I don't believe there is anything that will get rid of gout in 24 hours.
    However, if you self medicate on a daily basis, you can keep the gout away.
    Black cherry juice, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, pineapple and vitamin C are what works for me.
    Doctors have told me from many years ago that I would have to be on prescription meds for life – not so – those meds would kill me long before the gout would.
    I found that daily doses of the above items keeps the gout away.

I haven't tried these remedies but the one that worked for me is the following: 1) one heaping tablespoon of spirulina; 2) one heaping tablespoon of chlorella; and 3) one heaping tablespoon of moringa leaf powder. Blend these up in a Vitamixer. Add some frozen black cherries if you want to sweeten it a bit. These are the three most alkaline foods on planet earth. They will neutralize excess uric acid within the intestinal and the urinary tract within 24 hours. But timing is everything. I only have gout when I'm sleeping at night, so I take it just before I go to bed. What awesome relief!

  39. I am amazed by the information in this video! I was having gout pain for weeks and prednisone steroids were not working as well as taking indomethacin. So i went to the store bought some R.W. Kndsen just black cherry juice and a head of celary ate two stalks with some peanut butter, drank half of the 32 oz cherry juice and i feel at least 80% better today as i was in alot of pain yesterday.   43. I listened to the video and then did some research. bottom line I then went to the natural foods store and purchased celery seed extract and black cherry extract. it is now 21 hours later and although not gone I feel so much better. thank you Dr. Axe

  45. Ive not seen many people talk about this, but I recommend "Kratom" for gout relief.

    I've suffered from gout on and off for around 10 years. Tried all the home remedies, with limited success. Sometimes the attacks are bearable and go away quickly, other times I'm calling off work because I can't walk and the pain lingers for days (longest was almost 2 weeks). My most recent attack happened yesterday into today. It was pretty sevier, at least an 8/10 for pain, I could barely walk. I took the Kratom, and while the pain isnt totally gone, its MUCH more manageable, I'd say a 3/10. Im up and walking again after just a few hours of taking it. Now who knows if I'll be back in pain tomorrow if it wears off, but even if its only temporary relief, its well worth it.

  47. It doesn't work. 3 days later and more than a gallon of tart cherry juice and 5 pounds of celery. Wished it did. After 9 days of suffering the only thing that is fixing my gout is Prednisone 2.5mg once a day.
