Medicine X | Our greatest opportunity

Hierarchy doesn’t help us make good decisions so we have to combat what we naturally do to fall into rank to try to actually be equal with one another in the ways in which we interact. Because everybody in the team has value has voice, and that needs to be heard to have good outcomes. We raise the under heard voices in health care and we bring our audience and community together on equal footing. Caregivers, providers, researchers, technologists, all these stakeholders join us here at Medicine X. We cannot let people who don’t understand us defeat us. We look for people who are not scared of the future, who embrace the possibility that everyone has something to learn and everyone has something to teach. The choices people make about the foods they eat, the activities they participate in, are constrained. They’re constrained by what we can afford, where we can buy our food, our transportation options, and whether we feel safe in our own neighborhoods. I want you to encourage the tech community to take on these challenges and then reward them when they do. We can change health care and we can change health decisions and we can change our diagnosis beyond the human brain by leveraging technology in a much different way. Not being afraid of it, but accepting it. We want to improve the quality of life of cancer patients throughout the whole cancer journey by making stress management tools accessible to the largest number of patients. My mom had ovarian cancer. I’m with you, I think that this is an incredible need that a lot of people have. Hope comes the connection to resources strength and time, instead of in a pill deserves to be or to feel invisible let’s recraft the narrative so that we may move from stigma to support the medical community is a powerful voice that has incredible influence on families trying to find answers to the autism puzzle having someone fighting for your right to give you a voice is the greatest feeling that anyone could have. To march among these kinds of people is to me, a great honor thank you. the blessing that we have been given by this disease is beyond anything I ever thought that I would ever get we’ve now almost raised a million dollars in research funds I will not stop the fight I would like to see the medical community come together as one to ensure no one ever feels alone or just a name on a piece of paper a physician’s duty is not to stave off death or return patients to their old lives but to take into our arms a patient and family whose lives have disintegrated and work until they can stand back up and make sense of their own existence the most important lesson is that suffering provides our greatest opportunity to love and to be loved
