Your Best Diet Advice After Antibiotics


Thanks for checking out my video. We’re going
to talk about the best foods to eat after you’ve had antibiotics. Let’s say you’ve taken
a course of antibiotics and you’re not feeling particularly good. What are some of the best
foods you can eat? Let’s quickly talk about the foods that you
don’t want to eat before we go into the foods that you do want to eat, so it’s obviously
not a good idea to have beer and soda and potato chips and crap food like that. You
don’t really want to do this after antibiotics because you’ve wiped out a whole lot of bacteria,
so you really want to focus on trying to relax a little bit. Give your immune system a little
bit less stress by saying “no” to people, not taking on so much work and by trying to
drink a little bit of water. Understand that beverages also have a big role in gut ecology.
Kefir is a good thing to drink, and some herbal teas are quite good, but too much coffee,
tea and especially alcohol are a big no-no after antibiotics. I would say don’t have
any booze at all for two weeks post antibiotics. It’s a smart move. Try not to socialize too
much with people because there’s a tendency for you to drink alcohol when you do that.
And then when you’ve had a few drinks, you tend to eat the wrong kind of food anyway.
What about what you can eat? What are some of the good things to have when you’ve had
the antibiotics? Yogurt, a really good naturally cultured yogurt, a Greek sour yogurt, is very,
very good to have in small amounts. Have it usually in the morning before breakfast, a
small amount, and also at nighttime. I find twice a day, just a little amount, is going
to be good. You don’t need a whole lot. Just a small amount.
Second food I want you to think about is garlic. Fresh garlic, especially up to three cloves
per day, is a smart move for a few reasons. One of them is garlic contains a lot of prebiotics
in it. It’s prebiotic by default because it contains indigestible fibers in it that allow
it feed up the beneficial bacteria that are remaining. They’ll be some traces of lactobacillus
left and these will feed quite heavily on garlic. They quite like garlic. This will
explain to you that garlic doesn’t kill the friendly bacteria. In fact, it feeds them
up. And the clever thing also with garlic, it’s going to inhibit any fungal strains that
are potentially there after you’ve taken an antibiotic. Because we know that antibiotics
encourage yeast production, and garlic discourages yeast production. Another good reason to take
garlic. It contains prebiotics that feed the beneficials, and it’s going to help nail the
bad bacteria and also any fungal strains that are coming up.
Third food to eat if you’ve had antibiotics is almonds. Almonds are quite good. And, in
fact, the almond board in California found that they had an antiviral effect with people
and also a beneficial effect on people. Almonds, especially ground up to a fine powder, you
can make cookies out of it. You can use it in bread. You can use it in different dishes.
I even used it in a curry once. I made a nice chicken curry and I put some almond powder
in there. It was quite tasty. Almonds are very good to have after you’ve had antibiotics,
but make sure they’re not roasted with lots of salt. Try to have them raw like fresh.
Jerusalem artichoke, a fantastic vegetable that belongs to the sunflower family. These
contain a prebiotic sugar called inulin. In fact, Jerusalem artichokes are one of the
highest inulin containing of all vegetables to eat. Just a small amount, a couple of ounces
of Jerusalem artichokes steamed up per day, is a very smart move after you’ve had antibiotics.
This just gives you an insight into some of the foods you can have that are going to boost
your intestinal health post antibiotics. And the other thing I’d like to leave you with
is to make sure you take one or two of my Canxida Remove tablets per day after antibiotics
to stop any yeast from coming up, and the danger period often is about 7 to 10 days
after antibiotics are finished when the Candida will slowly start coming up.

be enough. Take the raw garlic. Take some almonds. Take some Jerusalem artichoke. The
last thing I’ll leave you with is sauerkraut. So Sauerkraut, make sure you get an unpasteurized
and naturally fermented sauerkraut. It’s a fantastic food to have when you’ve had an
antibiotic. The fermented and cultured foods like kefir,
sauerkraut, Kim Chee from Korea, yogurt, these are all really, really good choices to have.
Find the one that suits you and stick with it for a little while, but the secret also
is to take the antifungal, Canxida, just a couple per day for three or four weeks, and
that will make sure that you get no recurrences and that you’ve nailed that yeast infection

  2. I've been using for some skin problems a spot (little amount) of clindamycin every week I think for years. When I realized it was antibiotics I was very scared. Could this small amounts ruin my gut health forever? I've been sick quote often and had a sinus infection lately. Should I do some tests after that realisation?

  3. Hi Sir, I'm 22 and i had a lot of antibiotics since i was a kid. I easily get sick and im currently on Cefurixime. Axetil because of UTI. I know that to be healthy, we also need to have a balance number of bacterias in our gut. I just dont know how to restore my gut in a holistic way after antibiotics. It's getting harder and harder to find real food and good quality probiotics are expensive. I always feel tired eventhough I did not do much. Living in a 3rd world country, is like you need to be rich to be healthy. Can i still restore the ecosystem in my gut, Sir? I'm really concern. Thank you!

  4. hello Sir, ive been off and on antibiotics for a dog bite, an infected cut on my thumb and so many other reasons, all just within a matter of three months. i noticed my stomach feels funny, not at all like before the antibiotics. i notice my skin is sensitive to touch as i get itchy. Lateley 2 weeks ago ive started drinking kefir and i find it make me tired and drowsy.
    My question, will kefir help as a probiotic? and how much should i take? currently, ive been drinking 6-8 ounces. i have only the store bought brand called LifeWay. But i plan on ordering live grains online so i can make my own.

  5. Thanks for this video. Im also seeing a natropath as I am dealing with aftermath of 8 courses of antibiotics (due to sepsis infection). I am much of what you have said, but I have gained nearly 10kg since. I am normally a fit healthy perso. Still exercisong most days and cant shake it. Will keep going but any tips are welcome!

  8. Don't take Flouroquinolones!!!! Chemo antibiotics..attack blood type o,b,ab…my family took levaquin Dec 14 and its Sept 2018 and we still struggle with many SE..don't take no matter what ur told!!!!

    I'm 30 years old married women.
    I got to know that I have candida before 1year and took medicine for it and I was fine after that. But after some time I got UTI once a month and was in medication. Same time I got so much difficulties when ever I be with my husband. He effected like burning when we be together and we took medicines it was fine when we are in medications. But all these things changed worse when 1 doctor gave me antibiotics for 3months ( 1 pill per week ). My husband feels so much burning and it feels like acid to him when ever we be together and this effect for his Private part also (like burn skin )
    We check again from many doctors but nothing helps us. I recently saw your videos and started to follow your diet also . we don't know where or what to do sir

  12. Thanks for the good advise. I had a lung embolism recently. I was brought to the emergency because it happened like overnight. They used the sledgehammer method and pumped me full with antibiotics. That ruined my gut and my body overall. I still feel like a zombie. I am vegan so I won't eat any yogurt but garlic and sauerkraut are very good. I eat garlic daily but I will have to get some sauerkraut come Monday.

  14. Want to hear something silly? My gums and teeth started aching after a IV of antibiotics. It's probably my 3rd antibiotics and my guts are literally damaged. I can feel it as my stools/movements are getting crazy. Never had I something like this, having solid stools then suddenly diarhea the same day while having tummy aches etc.

    Time to go paleo?
